Sabretooth Visits Hoover Elementary During Sabres Playoff Run

Thanks to the Hoover Elementary School Physical Education Department led by PE teacher Heather Ratka and Ken-Ton School District Public Relations Assistant Jenna Stockman, Hoover recently won an exciting visit by Sabretooth during the Buffalo Sabres' exciting playoff run.
The Sabres had challenged schools to submit a video showcasing their Sabres spirit and detailing what the team means to them. Hoover won the competition, and Sabretooth along with several members of the Sabres organization spent the morning at the school parading through the halls and leading a pep rally in the gym.
This wasn’t the first visit by the Sabres organization. Hoover was among the first schools to take part in the Sabres “Students of the Game” program which is designed to incorporate floor hockey into the PE curriculum among local schools. Through this program, representatives of the Buffalo Sabres organization visit the school to teach students the fundamental skills involved in floor hockey and take part in several games and challenges with their classmates. Students typically receive a free T-shirt and coupon to attend an upcoming Sabres game.
