Bryan Strauss, Hoover Middle School Teacher

We are proud to honor Mr. Bryan Strauss, a dedicated special education teacher at Herbert Hoover Middle School, for his outstanding service and commitment to our students. Bryan is here tonight with his wife, Kristina, and their two children, Eric and Morgan. In addition to celebrating this prestigious recognition, we are also fortunate to celebrate his birthday — making today even more special.
If you know Bryan, you know that teaching, supporting others, and going above and beyond are simply who he is. Whether he is cheering on students at after-school basketball and football games, energizing our morning announcements as “Mr. Socko,” or hosting Hoover’s Got Talent, Bryan shows up for students in ways that extend far beyond the classroom.
Bryan has a remarkable ability to connect with students on many levels, building meaningful relationships that leave a lasting impact. He is consistently one of the teachers students mention when they reflect on the adults who have truly made a difference in their lives. He makes learning engaging and relevant, bringing energy and creativity to every lesson — whether in Math, Social Studies, or any subject he teaches.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Bryan serves as co-leader of our Foundations Team, co-advisor of Student Council, and department chair of Special Education at HMS. In each of these roles, he leads with positivity, and a commitment to student success.
Bryan’s positive spirit shines through in everything he does. He models kindness, dedication, and perseverance for both his students and his own children. We are grateful for his leadership, his heart for students, and the countless ways he strengthens our school community each and every day.
Congratulations, Bryan — and happy birthday!
